Search Marketing

Sponsored Search Marketing

Yahoo sponsored search marketing is a pay per click advertising program.  Yahoo sponsored search advertisements appear at the beginning of the Yahoo search results down the side and on the bottom of the page.  The Yahoo sponsored search ads are displayed when a Yahoo user types in the keywords linked to the campaign in the search box.  The idea behind sponsored search marketing is that paying for placement gives the advertiser better position.  It is clear that internet users respond better to search results at the top of the first page.

There are two ways that an advertiser can open a Yahoo sponsored search marketing account.  An advertiser can do self service sponsored search and set up their own account.  The second way is to work directly with Brett M. Bell and his search marketing team.  Brett M. Bell will ask a series of questions to better understand the goals of the sponsored search campaign.  He will then work with his sponsored search team to build the best ads and select keywords. This process usually takes about two days.  Brett M. Bell will do a final account review then activate the campaign.   Brett M. Bell will track the results and continue to make changes so the campaign runs efficiently.

Google Sponsored Search

The Google sponsored search platform is called Google Adwords.   The ads are displayed in a similar fashion to Yahoo in that keywords are paired with advertisements.  The goal of a Google Adwords campaign is to appear in the front of the search results.  Google Adwords also has an account interface where customers can track the results of their campaign.  Google Adwords is a self service platform except in the case of large advertisers.

Microsoft Bing and Ask.com

Two of the smaller players in the industry are Microsoft Bing and Ask.com Sponsored Search.  Microsoft sponsored search and ask sponsored search have never been big players in the industry.  However the two can be utilized for the marketer looking to get some experience before using the two larger networks.  Some marketers also believe that using Microsoft Sponsored search is a great way to avoid the competition and get more sales.  Do your research and explore all networks to find what is best for you.
